Piedras Negras housing project faces infrastructure concerns

The Valle del Roble housing project in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, is facing scrutiny regarding its feasibility and environmental impact. The development, which includes approximately 129 homes near the Río Escondido, has raised concerns about whether the city's existing hydraulic and sanitary infrastructure can support new residential growth, especially during periods of high water demand.

Questions have also been raised regarding the hydrological conditions of the site and the necessity of soil compaction studies. Additionally, residents in nearby sectors have reported long-standing issues with dust and pollution from LABASA industrial activity, leading to calls for greater transparency from Mayor Jacobo Rodríguez regarding the studies and measures intended to ensure habitability for future residents.
