Piemonte allocates €1.5 million to extend nursery hours in 77 municipalities

Regione Piemonte will invest €1.5 million to broaden the opening hours of municipal nurseries for the 2026‑2027 school year. The funding, drawn from the European Social Fund Plus, will be allocated to 77 municipalities and will enable longer daily hours, Saturday service and operation during school‑break periods, all without additional fees for families.

Twelve of the participating municipalities are in the province of Alessandria – Acqui Terme, Alice Bel Colle, Bistagno, Casale Monferrato, Cassine, Fubine Monferrato, Novi Ligure, Rivalta Bormida, Solero, Tortona, Valenza and Visone. Councilor Davide Buzzi Langhi of Forza Italia described the measure as concrete support for work‑family balance and early‑childhood development. The scheme is in its sixth edition, following its first rollout in 2021‑2022.
