Italy healthcare infrastructure undergoes technological and facility upgrades
Several healthcare infrastructure projects and technological upgrades are being implemented across Italy. In Savigliano, the Ss. Annunziata Hospital has inaugurated a high-end 256-slice CT scanner. This advanced equipment, integrated with artificial intelligence, allows for rapid scans in less than a second and can reduce radiation doses by up to 90% compared to conventional tomographs.
In Bologna, the Casa della Comunità del Pilastro has been renovated using 624,000 euros from PNRR funds. The project included internal restructuring, the addition of telemedicine technologies, and the creation of a new access area. The renovation also featured a community-led mural project on the building's exterior. This facility is part of a larger 15-million-euro investment in Bologna's healthcare network.
Additionally, the Saluzzo Hospital has undergone 3.5 million euros worth of modernization works. These improvements include a new area for the 116/117 emergency coordination center, a renovated intensive care and respiratory physiotherapy space, and the activation of a Community House. These upgrades aim to increase bed capacity and improve emergency response efficiency.
