Piemontese beef Food District passes initial administrative review

The proposed Food District for the Piemontese beef breed has successfully passed its initial administrative review in the Piedmont region of Italy. Promoted by the municipalities of Carmagnola and Racconigi, the project aims to safeguard and enhance the value of the Piemontese cattle breed and its entire production chain.

The initiative is extensive, involving 74 municipalities and 20 organizations across the provinces of Turin, Cuneo, Asti, and Alessandria. While the positive review marks a significant step toward formalization, administrative processes must continue before the district becomes fully operational. The goal is to strengthen the recognition of the meat and support stakeholders ranging from breeders to processors.
