Pier Ferdinando Casini to leave Parliament after 44 years
Senator Pier Ferdinando Casini has announced that he will not seek re-election in the upcoming political elections, ending a 44-year career in the Italian Parliament. In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Casini stated that it is time to make room for new personalities more in tune with current political parties and coalitions. Having served in Parliament since 1983, Casini reflected on the difficulty of knowing when to step away from politics.
Separately, the Italian Confederation of Managers and High Professionals (CIDA) celebrated its 80th anniversary. President Stefano Cuzzilla emphasized the organization's role in Italy's post-war reconstruction and set a strategic vision looking toward 2046. Italian President Sergio Mattarella attended the celebrations, noting that CIDA was born from the ruins of war to help build a modern, democratic, and cohesive nation.
