Pier Ferdinando Casini presents book on Italian politics

Politician Pier Ferdinando Casini presented his new book, ‘Al centro dell’aula. Dalla Prima Repubblica a oggi’, at an event in Scicli. The book examines forty years of Italian politics, offering reflections on the transition from the First Republic to the present day.

During the discussion with political scientist Franco Raniolo, Casini addressed several contemporary issues, including the necessity of migrant integration, the identity crisis within Europe, and the importance of restoring the central role of Parliament. He also reflected on the end of the First Republic and the Christian Democracy party, attributing its decline not only to the ‘Mani Pulite’ investigations but also to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
