Pier Paolo Pasolini legacy honored in new cultural features
The 60th issue of CulturaIdentità is dedicated to the life and legacy of Pier Paolo Pasolini, the influential Italian poet, director, and writer who was killed in November 1975. The publication explores Pasolini as an intellectual who captured the contradictions of Italy during the economic boom and anticipated modern concerns regarding globalization and identity.
Ninetto Davoli, a long-time close friend of Pasolini, has shared personal reflections on their relationship. Davoli describes meeting the filmmaker through his brother on the set of ‘La ricotta’ and recounts their bond, which lasted from his youth through Pasolini’s career. Davoli highlights Pasolini’s humanity and sincerity, noting his involvement in significant works such as ‘Uccellacci uccellini’ and his efforts to connect Davoli with the legendary actor Totò.
