Pier Silvio Berlusconi defends Meloni, warns on Vannacci, unveils MFE European restructuring

Pier Silvio Berlusconi, chairman and CEO of MFE‑MediaForEurope, publicly reaffirmed his support for Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, saying he felt personally offended by former U.S. President Donald Trump’s criticism of her. He also commented on the rise of political communicator Roberto Vannacci, describing him as a skilled speaker but noting that his propaganda must align with the centre‑right program before the party takes any action.

During the same press briefing Berlusconi presented MFE’s new European strategy. The plan involves divesting non‑core assets, including a share in Germany’s ProSiebenSat.1, to free cash for investments in television production and a unified digital platform covering Italy, Spain and Germany. The restructuring aims to lower apparent revenues, raise profit margins and strengthen the group’s position in the European TV market. He also referenced ongoing discussions with public broadcaster RAI concerning coordination of prime‑time schedules and market governance.

Berlusconi stressed that while he does not advise the government or his party Forza Italia on Vannacci, the party will decide autonomously on any further steps.
