Pierce Thiot, Emmy-nominated creative executive, dies at 40
Pierce Thiot, a prominent creative executive and two-time Emmy nominee, has died at the age of 40. Thiot passed away on August 24 at his home in Orem, Utah, due to a pulmonary embolism.
Thiot served as the Head of Creative for Brand and Entertainment at Maximum Effort, the production and marketing company co-founded by Ryan Reynolds and George Dewey. He was widely recognized for his ability to blend entertainment with marketing, contributing to high-profile campaigns for brands such as DoorDash, L’Oréal Paris, Lancôme, and TJ Maxx. His recent work included the DoorDash 2026 Super Bowl campaign featuring 50 Cent.
Prior to joining Maximum Effort in 2022, Thiot held a significant role at TBWA/Media Arts Lab, where he helped lead integrated global campaigns for the launch of Apple TV+, including work for series such as ‘The Morning Show’ and ‘Servant’. His creative contributions earned him an Emmy nomination and a Cannes Gold Lion for film. In 2016, Business Insider named him to its list of ‘The 30 Most Creative People in Advertising Under 30’.
