Pierfrancesco Favino criticizes censorship at Venice Film Festival

Actor Pierfrancesco Favino addressed the issue of censorship during the 83rd Venice Film Festival. Speaking in an interview regarding the film ‘Dio ride’ by Giovanni Veronesi, which closed the festival, Favino characterized modern censorship as a form of ‘preventive censorship.’

He noted that individuals often self-censor by hesitating multiple times before expressing an opinion due to fear of potential backlash. Favino described this phenomenon as a widespread conformism that prevents free expression.
