Pieria hosts 18th International Ecumenical Symposium pilgrimage

Participants of the 18th International Ecumenical Symposium conducted a pilgrimage to the Holy Metropolis of Kition, Katerini, and Platamona in Pieria on September 24. The symposium was organized by the Theological School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Sant'Antimo University of Rome, in collaboration with the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece and several local metropolises.

The event brought together theologians, academics, clergy, and ecclesiastical representatives from various countries. The selection of Pieria highlights ongoing efforts to promote the region as a significant destination for religious and pilgrimage tourism, specifically focusing on the Orthodox spiritual heritage and the ‘Steps of the Apostle Paul’ in Macedonia.
