Pierin Vincenz fraud trial verdict delayed until January 2027
The Zurich High Court has announced that the verdict in the trial of former Raiffeisen Bank chief Pierin Vincenz and his co-defendant Beat Stocker will not be released until January 11, 2027. The court is currently in an internal consultation and decision-making phase.
The case involves allegations of secret company participations. Prosecutors claim that Vincenz and Stocker orchestrated the acquisition of companies, such as the credit card firm Aduno, by Raiffeisen or other entities to secure millions in illegal profits. Additionally, the defendants are accused of charging private expenses, including visits to strip clubs, as business costs.
In a previous instance at the District Court, Vincenz was sentenced to three years and nine months, while Stocker received four years of unconditional imprisonment. Both defendants have maintained their innocence and requested acquittal during the recent eight-day appellate proceedings.
