Pierluigi Gollini to start for Roma against Real Madrid

AS Roma goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini is set to start against Real Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico following an injury to first-choice keeper Mile Svilar. Svilar suffered a fracture to his fifth toe during training and is expected to be sidelined for at least one month.

Gollini, who joined Roma from Atalanta in January 2025, has largely served as a backup to Svilar. However, he recently secured a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Como, despite Roma playing with a numerical disadvantage after Donyell Malen was sent off.

This upcoming match presents a significant opportunity for the 31-year-old, who previously released a song titled ‘Champions Dream’ in 2022 under the musical moniker ‘Gollorius’. He will be playing under coach Gian Piero Gasperini, with whom he previously worked during his time at Atalanta.
