Piero Ausilio resigns as Inter Milan sporting director

Piero Ausilio has resigned from his position at Inter Milan after 28 years with the club. His departure follows a long career that included 12 years leading the youth academy and 16 years as sporting director.

During his tenure as sporting director, Ausilio managed 25 transfer windows across four different ownership eras: Moratti, Thohir, Suning, and Oaktree. His career at the club is marked by 15 titles, including a Champions League, one Club World Cup, four Serie A titles, five Coppa Italia trophies, and four Supercoppa Italiana titles.

Reports indicate an emotional farewell at the Appiano Gentile training center, involving players, coaching staff, and management. Ausilio was instrumental in the acquisition of key players such as Lautaro Martínez, Nicolò Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, and Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
