Piñero celebrates 20 years of tourism investment in Samaná

The Piñero group is celebrating 20 years of operations in Samaná, Dominican Republic. The company’s presence in the region began in 2006 through an investment by Pablo Piñero and Isabel García Lorca.

Currently, the group manages three distinct establishments: Bahia Principe Escape Samaná, Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo, and the Cayo Levantado Resort. Global CEO Encarna Piñero stated that the company’s focus moving forward is to grow with purpose by protecting the environment, strengthening strategic alliances, and creating local opportunities.

Over the past two decades, the company has contributed to the region's connectivity, including the 2018 launch of direct flights from Madrid to El Catey. Economically, Piñero reports generating over 1,000 direct jobs in the province and sourcing more than 90% of its purchases from Dominican suppliers. The group also conducts biodiversity and marine fauna conservation programs through the Eco-Bahia Foundation.
