Piñero joins WTTC to advance sustainable tourism

Piñero has officially joined the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) as a new global member. The WTTC is an international forum representing over 200 leading private sector companies that account for approximately 30% of the global tourism industry.

Encarna Piñero, Global CEO of Piñero, described the membership as a strategic milestone aimed at reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable, inclusive, and regenerative tourism. The group’s operations span several sectors, including hospitality with properties in Spain, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica; high-end real estate and golf in the Caribbean; travel services led by the tour operator Soltour; and mobility solutions.

Gloria Guevara, head of the WTTC, welcomed the group, noting that Piñero’s expertise in hospitality, real estate, and travel management aligns with the organization’s goals to build a resilient global tourism sector. The partnership is expected to drive collaboration on environmental sustainability, decarbonization, and the socio-economic development of local communities.
