Pierre Arditi discusses health and aging challenges

French actor Pierre Arditi has spoken candidly about the physical and cognitive challenges associated with aging. During an appearance on Nagui’s new France Inter program, ‘Les ailes du géant’, the 81-year-old actor described the experience of watching certain aspects of himself slowly fade away.

Arditi noted that his memory is gradually dulling and mentioned physical limitations, such as difficulty running and a ruptured Achilles tendon. He expressed significant anxiety regarding Alzheimer’s disease, noting that while he does not have the condition, his father suffered from it. He described the process of aging as ‘less and less bearable’ as he observes his physical and mental capacities diminish over time.

Despite these challenges, Arditi remains active in the industry and is scheduled to return to the stage this September in Florian Zeller’s play, ‘Le Père’, performing alongside Isabelle Carré.
