Pierre Cardin Museum opens in Venice

The Pierre Cardin Museum has officially opened at Ca’ Bragadin in Venice, marking a homecoming for the late designer who was born near the city. The museum is housed in the historic palazzo that once served as Cardin’s residence, featuring a rare garden space.

The exhibition showcases approximately 350 works, including garments, jewelry, eyewear, and models that illustrate Cardin’s influential career in fashion and design. Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, the designer’s great-nephew and president of the company, noted that Venice was chosen for the museum due to its deep connection to international art and culture.

In addition to the fashion collections, the museum’s garden will display abstract sculptures by French contemporary artist Patrick Breteau. The opening coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Beistegui Ball, an event where Cardin gained international fame by designing costumes for participants such as Salvador Dalí.
