Pierre Dwomoh debuts for Lierse to relaunch career

Belgian midfielder Pierre Dwomoh has made his debut for Lierse in the Challenger Pro League, appearing in a 0-0 draw against RFC Liège. The 22-year-old seeks to rebuild his career following a turbulent period in England.

Dwomoh previously played for KRC Genk, Antwerp, Braga, KV Oostende, and RWDM before joining Watford in 2024. His tenure in England was marked by a heavy eleven-match suspension imposed by the English Football Association in 2026 due to racist remarks directed at a teammate, an incident reported by Watford.

Dwomoh noted that he requires time to regain his match fitness, as his last official appearance was in October 2025. He expressed confidence in Lierse, describing it as a family-oriented club that provides the ideal environment to relaunch his professional standing. The move was also influenced by his long-standing relationship with coach Arno Van den Abbeel.
