Pierre Ekwah joins AJ Auxerre on loan from Saint-Étienne

Midfielder Pierre Ekwah has joined AJ Auxerre on loan from AS Saint-Étienne for the 2026-2027 season. The 24-year-old, who is eligible to represent Ghana, seeks to relaunch his career in Ligue 1 following a difficult period that included a loan spell at Watford.

Reports indicate the loan agreement includes a purchase option. One proposed option is valued between 4 and 5 million euros with a percentage of any future resale, while a second option is set at 6 million euros without additional bonuses. Auxerre's move for Ekwah follows the departure of Elisha Owusu to Erzurumspor and an injury to Assane Dioussé.
