Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to undergo knee surgery

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the star striker for Deportivo La Corogne, is set to undergo surgery on his right knee following a partial tear of the lateral meniscus. The injury occurred during a recent match against Betis, where the 37-year-old Gabonese forward was forced to leave the pitch in the 25th minute due to pain.

The surgical procedure is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, in Madrid, performed by specialist Manuel Leyes. Following the operation, Aubameyang is expected to return to Galicia to begin his rehabilitation process.

Aubameyang has been a key figure in Deportivo's successful return to LaLiga, contributing five goals and two assists in the first seven matches. He is estimated to be sidelined for approximately two months, which could see him miss at least seven league fixtures, including matches against Atlético Madrid and Barcelona.
