Pierre Villard appointed justice conciliator in Bagnères-de-Bigorre
Pierre Villard has been appointed as the justice conciliator for the canton of Bagnères-de-Bigorre by the Pau Court of Appeal. A retired magistrate and former legal director for international corporations, Villard is scheduled to take his oath on November 3, 2026.
His appointment fills a vacancy that has existed since the previous conciliator departed in the spring. Residents of the canton previously had to travel to nearby locations such as Lourdes, Tarbes, or Lannemezan to access these services. Villard will hold weekly sessions every Wednesday at the Maison France Services in Bagnères-de-Bigorre.
As an independent and impartial volunteer, the justice conciliator assists with neighborhood disputes, housing leases, consumer litigation, and financial disagreements between individuals or with professionals. The role focuses on restoring dialogue and facilitating mutually acceptable agreements at no cost to the litigants.
