Pierre-Yves Lord arrested in Quebec City after police confrontation

Quebec City host Pierre-Yves Lord was arrested on August 22 following an incident in Old Quebec involving a confrontation with police. The arrest occurred around 11:05 p.m. near the intersection of Dalhousie and de la Barricade streets.

According to reports, Lord attempted to direct traffic near a gas station while wearing a safety vest to assist family members during heavy congestion. Lord described his state of intoxication at the time as a “happy cocktail.” The situation escalated when a police officer intervened, leading to an exchange that Lord characterized as “square” and “inappropriate.”

Lord confirmed he was handcuffed, searched, and detained in a police vehicle for several minutes. He has been issued two municipal infraction notices totaling $472 and stated he does not intend to contest them, describing the event as a “joke that went wrong.” The Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) declined to provide further comments on the matter.
