Piersanti Mattarella exhibition opens at Catania's Museo Diocesano
The photographic exhibition ‘Il sogno spezzato – L’orizzonte politico e familiare di Piersanti Mattarella’ has arrived at the Museo Diocesano in Catania. Curated by Fondazione Sicilia, the exhibition follows a successful run in Palermo.
The display features over 200 photographs, many of which are previously unpublished, documenting the life of the former President of the Sicilian Region. The collection aims to portray Mattarella not only as a political figure but also as a private individual and father. The exhibition serves to commemorate the 90th anniversary of his birth and to educate younger generations about his legacy following his assassination in Palermo on January 6, 1980.
The inauguration ceremony included various officials, including Maria Concetta Di Natale, president of Fondazione Sicilia, and Bernardo Mattarella. Organizers noted that the exhibition is intended to reach young audiences and may expand to other territories in the future.
