Piesie Esther denies rift with Diana Hamilton amid TGMA controversy

Ghanaian gospel musician Piesie Esther has clarified that the controversy surrounding the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) has not damaged her relationship with fellow artist Diana Hamilton.

The dispute arose among supporters regarding whether Piesie Esther or Diana Hamilton deserved a nomination in the Artiste of the Year category. While Piesie Esther received nominations for her song ‘Nyame Ye’ in the Most Popular Song and Gospel Song of the Year categories, she was excluded from the top category. This led to intense debate among fans and media personalities, with some suggesting the award organizers were compromised.

Piesie Esther admitted to feeling disappointment regarding the Artiste of the Year omission and noted that social media commentary had been “frightening.” However, she maintained that a rift between her and Hamilton is “not at all” possible. She is currently preparing for her fifth Flora By Grace concert in Accra and Kumasi.
