Pietracatella ricin investigation: Berlin tests show no exposure for surviving family

New scientific findings have emerged in the investigation of the Pietracatella ricin poisoning case, which resulted in the deaths of Antonella Di Ielsi and her 15-year-old daughter, Sara Di Vita. Blood tests conducted by the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin on the two surviving family members, Gianni Di Vita and Alice Di Vita, have returned negative results for ricin-related antibodies. This finding suggests that the husband and the other daughter were not exposed to the toxin that killed the mother and daughter.

In parallel with the biological testing, the Larino Prosecutor's Office has intensified its digital investigation. The Campobasso Police seized a Lenovo desktop computer and ten USB flash drives from Gianni Di Vita, as investigators look for evidence of premeditated murder. Prosecutor Elvira Antonelli has clarified that there is currently no official communication confirming any specific food item as a carrier for the ricin, and that the investigation into the double homicide remains ongoing against unknown suspects.
