Pietracatella investigation shifts toward homicide after ricin poisoning discovery

Investigations into the deaths of Antonella Di Ielsi and her daughter, Sara Di Vita, in Pietracatella are shifting toward a homicide theory. While pathologists initially noted that autopsies could not definitively distinguish between accidental ingestion of ricin seeds and intentional administration by a third party, new biological findings have strengthened the suspicion of murder.

Recent findings reveal that the amount of ricin detected in both victims was 140 times the minimum lethal dose, a concentration that investigators suggest is highly inconsistent with accidental ingestion. Pathologist Benedetta De Luca noted that no food residue was found in the victims' stomachs, only blood, following repeated vomiting prior to death.

In a parallel development, investigators have identified an IP address in the United States used to conduct searches on how to prepare ricin powder. The digital footprint reportedly traces back to an area coinciding with the Pietracatella zone.
