Pietrafitta power plant to become digital innovation hub

The former Pietrafitta power plant in Umbria is set to be transformed into the ‘Parco dell’Innovazione Contemporanea’ (Contemporary Innovation Park). This new digital hub will focus on artificial intelligence, research, training, secure data management, and technological development.

The project is expected to be implemented over the next three years. It is promoted and supported by Foro delle Arti, a holding company belonging to the family of Brunello Cucinelli, and Umbria Data Garden, a newly formed company tasked with managing the initiative alongside industrial, technological, and financial partners.

Brunello Cucinelli has described the vision as a ‘humanistic data center’ that integrates culture and aesthetics with functionality. Following Vitruvian principles of being solid, useful, and beautiful, the infrastructure aims to serve businesses, healthcare, research, and public institutions while harmonizing with the local territory.
