Pietramontecorvino to host International Templar Festival

The International Templar Festival – In Tour is set to hold its first itinerant edition in Pietramontecorvino, a medieval village in the province of Foggia, on September 10 and 11, 2026. Following six editions in Alessandria, the festival is transitioning to a traveling format.

Directed by Templar scholar Simonetta Cerrini and songwriter Gian Piero Alloisio, the event will be hosted at the Palazzo Ducale. The program aims to blend historical rigor with popular engagement through “conferenze-spettacolo” (lecture-performances) featuring music, theater, and historical reenactments.

Key highlights include a masterclass by Cerrini, video contributions from historians Alessandro Barbero and Franco Cardini, and a roundtable discussion with medievalists from the Universities of Foggia, Bologna, and Salento. The festival is part of the Templars Heritage Route European Federation and is supported by the University of Foggia.

Additionally, the village will host the 39th edition of “Suoni, sapori e colori di Terravecchia” on September 12 and 13, featuring historical battles and local gastronomy.
