Pietrasanta celebrates sculptor Gustavo Vélez and crowns Miss Carnevale 2027

The city of Pietrasanta is hosting “Le dimensioni dell’equilibrio,” a widespread exhibition celebrating 30 years of work by Colombian sculptor Gustavo Vélez. Running until September 20, 2026, the exhibition features works placed in symbolic locations including Piazza Duomo, the Sant’Agostino Complex, and the Marina di Pietrasanta pier. The collection utilizes marble, bronze, and steel to explore the relationship between geometry, organic forms, and the surrounding architectural space.

In a separate local event, 17-year-old Nina Avenoso has been crowned Miss Carnevale 2027. The coronation took place in Piazza Duomo and officially marks the beginning of the upcoming Carnival season. The ceremony also included the presentation of the artist manifesto for Gustavo Vélez.
