Pietro Grasso to present book on historic Maxiprocesso in Praia a Mare

Pietro Grasso, former President of the Senate and National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor, will present his new book, ‘’U Maxi’, in Praia a Mare on August 11. The book provides a detailed account of the historic Maxiprocesso in Palermo, a landmark judicial event in the fight against Cosa Nostra.

Grasso, who served as a judge during the original Maxiprocesso and later as Chief Prosecutor in Palermo, uses his direct experience to reconstruct the courtroom atmosphere, the judicial proceedings, and the broader socio-economic context. The narrative explores the international dimensions of organized crime, including heroin trafficking routes and the connections between the mafia and various economic sectors.
