Pietro Ninivaggi launches first Ninivaggi’s Day genealogy festival in Altamura, Italy

Entrepreneur Pietro Ninivaggi, whose family name traces back to a 15th‑century Spanish knight, has organized the inaugural “Ninivaggi’s Day” to bring together descendants of the Ninivaggi lineage. The two‑day event will be held on 8–9 August 2026 at the Sala Ricevimenti Tenuta Sabini in Altamura, Italy, and is expected to attract several hundred participants from various Italian regions and abroad.

The gathering follows years of archival research by Ninivaggi into the origins of his surname, which he links to the soldier Pedro Hernandez, nicknamed “Ninovagio,” who settled in Altamura in 1496. The festival aims to celebrate this five‑century family history and reinforce cultural ties across generations and continents.
