Pietro Sordillo, veteran Carabinieri officer, dies at 102
Retired Carabinieri officer Pietro Sordillo has passed away from natural causes at the age of 102. Born in 1924, Sordillo served in Rome, Frosinone, and Bologna during the period surrounding the armistice of World War II.
Following his military service, he remained deeply connected to the institution by founding and serving as the first president of the Montemiletto section of the National Carabinieri Association. In February, he was honored by the General Commander of the Carabinieri, General Salvatore Luongo, for reaching his 102nd birthday. The Avellino Provincial Command of the Carabinieri has expressed condolences to his family. The funeral is scheduled to take place at the Church of Sant’Anna in Montemiletto.
