Pieve Santo Stefano holds funeral for man killed in car crash

Funeral services are being held today in Pieve Santo Stefano for Tony Annibali, a 46-year-old municipal employee who died following a car crash. The incident occurred during the night between August 23 and August 24, when Annibali’s Suzuki Vitara struck a wall after he failed to stop at a police checkpoint.

The Arezzo Prosecutor's Office has ordered an autopsy and further investigations to determine why the driver did not stop and to reconstruct the exact circumstances leading to the impact. Investigators are also looking into statements from a friend who was in the vehicle shortly before the crash. The vehicle remains under seizure as the investigation continues.
