Pikes Peak Region weather to cool following heat spike

The Pikes Peak Region is experiencing a return to warmer temperatures, with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s and the plains seeing temperatures in the lower 90s. Conditions are expected to remain dry along and east of I-25, though quick-moving storms with lightning and brief downpours may occur near the foothills. Breezy conditions with gusts up to 25 mph are anticipated.

A cold front is expected to move through on Monday evening, bringing much cooler temperatures by Tuesday. Highs are projected to drop to the upper 60s or low 70s along I-25, with temperatures in the 70s and low 80s expected throughout the remainder of the week. An active weather pattern with daily chances for storms is likely to persist through next weekend.
