Pilar: Man arrested for killing former partner despite restraining order
Hernán Adalberto Ayerbe, 56, was arrested for the murder of his former partner, Mónica Ligorria, 48, in Villa Astolfi, Pilar. Despite having a restraining order against him, Ayerbe shot Ligorria in the head on September 21, following a period of escalating violence after she asked him to leave her home on September 15.
Ligorria had endured 16 years of verbal abuse, control, and humiliation. Family members reported that Ayerbe used psychological manipulation to maintain dominance, including making false claims about his professional status. The violence reportedly intensified when Ligorria sought financial independence through employment at a vehicle registry.
Ayerbe attempted to take his own life following the shooting before being apprehended by authorities.
