Pilar luxury estate investigation returns to Campana jurisdiction
The Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation has ruled that the money laundering investigation involving a luxury estate in Villa Rosa, Pilar, must return to the federal jurisdiction of Campana. The case, which was previously under the Economic Criminal jurisdiction in Buenos Aires, will now be led by Judge Adrián González Charvay.
The investigation focuses on a 105,000-square-meter property valued at approximately $17 million. While the estate is formally registered to Ana Lucía Conte and Luciano Pantano, investigators suspect they may be acting as frontpersons for high-ranking officials of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), specifically President Claudio Tapia and Treasurer Pablo Toviggino.
New evidence has surfaced within the property, including personal belongings, AFA recognitions, and items linked to Toviggino, such as a container featuring Diego Maradona's face and a cofre engraved with his identity. The estate also features a mansion, a helipad, a riding track, and a collection of 54 high-end vehicles valued at roughly $4 million. Authorities are working to determine the legitimate origin of the funds used to acquire and maintain the estate.
