Pilar Municipality denies responsibility for abandoned facility

The Municipality of Pilar has issued a statement regarding the current state of a building located at kilometer 46 of the Panamericana highway. The response follows the viral spread of videos on platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, which depict the site in a state of abandonment.

The footage shows various items left behind in the facility, including expired vaccines, stretchers, cleaning supplies, aprons, masks, and scattered documentation such as driver's licenses and identification cards.

In its official communication, the Municipality clarified that it no longer has access to the premises. Local authorities emphasized that while the building was under municipal administration, it functioned as a model vaccination center where hundreds of thousands of doses were administered, and it also served as a space for driver's license procedures. The administration maintained that the site was kept in correct condition during their period of oversight.
