Pilar vaccination center found abandoned with medical supplies
A large COVID-19 vaccination center in Pilar, Buenos Aires Province, has been found abandoned, containing sensitive medical supplies and personal documentation. The facility, which was once considered the largest vaccination site in Argentina, operated in a large parking area on Route 8 (Panamericana) starting in April 2021. At its peak, it was capable of administering approximately 3,000 doses daily.
Recent footage and journalistic investigations reveal that the site is in a state of significant decay. Inside the complex, investigators found various medical items including syringes, oxygen tubes, gowns, masks, and stretchers. Most concerningly, the site contains discarded medical waste, such as used syringes, and documentation containing personal data that was not properly secured or disposed of following the end of the pandemic campaign.
