Pilbara Gold ramps up Mt York drilling as K92 Mining targets PNG gold production
Pilbara Gold (ASX:PGL) has deployed six drill rigs at its Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia, completing 13,748 metres of drilling across 39 holes – 25% of its planned 50,000‑metre program. The accelerated schedule aims to extend mineralisation beyond the current resource, improve confidence for a new mineral resource estimate later this year and progress the Prefeasibility Study toward a Q2 2027 target.
K92 Mining is concentrating on underground gold production in Papua New Guinea, emphasizing the stability of its existing operations and the ability to extend mine life through ongoing exploration. The company highlights the importance of cost control, all‑in sustaining costs and the political, regulatory and infrastructure risks that affect profitability, advising investors to monitor how exploration results translate into reserve growth and sustained output.
