Pilgrim's Pride posts $4.5 bn first‑quarter sales as investors boost holdings

Pilgrim's Pride Corporation reported net sales of $4.5 bn for the first quarter of 2025, with mixed margins as the company dealt with plant downtime, winter storms and commodity price shifts across its U.S., European and Mexican operations. The firm announced progress on a new value‑added facility in Walker County, Georgia, and highlighted a sustainability achievement that met its Scope 1 & 2 emissions‑intensity targets. CEO Fabio Sandri said chicken demand remained healthy and the business fundamentals were positive.

In parallel, institutional investor Journey Advisory Group LLC increased its stake in Pilgrim's Pride, buying 86,387 shares to hold a total of 96,764 shares worth about $3.65 million. Other investors such as Torren Management, MCF Advisors and Quarry LP also took modest positions during the quarter, bringing institutional ownership to roughly 16.6 % of the company’s stock.
