Pilitauskas family leads scouting activities in Plungė

Kristina and Žydrūnas Pilitauskas, residents of Plungė, have dedicated much of their lives to the scouting movement. Having met through their shared interests, the couple has raised their daughters within the scouting spirit and currently leads the Gondingos tuntas, overseeing dozens of children and a group of adults.

Žydrūnas Pilitauskas traces his involvement back to his school years in Telšiai, where he was introduced to scouting by a teacher and Kostas Juknevičius. His background as a hiker and member of the Telšiai Tourist Club fostered a connection to scouting values, such as nature conservation and continuous learning. After studying scouting education systems in Denmark, Switzerland, and the United States, he helped revive scouting activities in Plungė after moving there in 1994.
