Pilot Fiber to acquire Boldyn Networks' metro fiber business
Pilot Fiber, an enterprise connectivity provider in the New York metropolitan area, has entered a definitive agreement to acquire the New York and New Jersey metro fiber business of Boldyn Networks. To fund the acquisition and support expansion, Pilot secured over $330 million in new financing led by Fengate Asset Management.
The deal, expected to close in the second quarter of 2027, will expand Pilot’s owned infrastructure to more than 1,600 route miles of fiber, connecting over 1,200 buildings and 50 data centers. The acquired assets include a New York City network supporting smart city infrastructure and data center connectivity, as well as a New Jersey network serving commercial corridors in the financial and healthcare sectors.
Additionally, the acquisition includes monopole infrastructure designed for low-latency connectivity between major financial exchanges. Pilot plans to integrate approximately 100 enterprise, carrier, and institutional customers into its existing operations.
