A 22-year-old student pilot died following a plane crash near the village of Bohot in the Pleven region on October 24. The aircraft, a Cessna 150 with registration LZ-TTE, crashed into the yard of an uninhabited private property.

According to flight school officials, the young man took off without authorization after the aircraft had landed and was being prepared for refueling. Witnesses reported seeing the pilot performing maneuvers in the air before the crash. The school manager noted that the student had been experiencing personal distress prior to the incident.

The Pleven District Prosecutor's Office is leading an investigation into the accident, which is being treated as a criminal offense involving the violation of aircraft management rules resulting in death through negligence. An investigative team including police, forensic experts, representatives from the ‘G. S. Rakovski’ Military Academy, and inspectors from the National Board for Investigation of Accidents in Air, Water, and Rail Transport has conducted an on-site inspection. Further technical, medical, and aeronautical expertise will be commissioned to determine the exact causes of the crash.
