PIND connects Niger Delta youth to career pathways

The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) hosted an International Youth Day event in Yenagoa to connect young people with economic opportunities. The forum brought together over 200 participants from Bayelsa, Abia, Delta, Edo, and Rivers states.

During the event, PIND Executive Director Sam Daibo emphasized that vocational training must be paired with functional systems to be effective. He stated, “Young people do not need training that ends with a certificate. They need pathways that connect learning to jobs, markets, mentorship and enterprise opportunities.”

Through a Career Opportunities and Support Fair, attendees explored sectors including information and communication technology, agriculture, agribusiness, renewable energy, construction, technical trades, hospitality, and the digital economy. The initiative aimed to link youth with employers, mentors, and training providers to foster sustainable livelihoods and regional peace.
