Špindlerův Mlýn ski resorts connect via new steel bridge
Construction crews in Špindlerův Mlýn have successfully installed a major steel bridge structure over the access road to connect the Svatý Petr and Medvědín ski areas. Originally planned to take two days, the installation of the eight steel beams was completed in a single night to avoid forecasted storms and minimize traffic disruptions on road II/295.
The bridge will allow skiers to travel from the new Lesní slope toward the Labská přehrada parking area, where they can access the Audi Line Přehradní cable car. This infrastructure is part of a larger project to create a continuous ski route across the valley, separating skiers from vehicular traffic.
The first stage of the connection is expected to open in December 2026, featuring the new cable car and bridge structures. Further developments, including the full bidirectional connection and additional terrain adjustments, are scheduled to continue through 2027.
