Pine Island ATV crash leaves 69-year-old man seriously injured

A 69-year-old man sustained serious injuries following an ATV crash in Pine Island, Minnesota, on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred at the intersection of County Rd. 3 NW and 8th St. SW when the vehicle ended up in a ditch.

Emergency responders from the Pine Island Fire Department arrived around 8 a.m. and reported that the operator was conscious and breathing upon arrival. Although Mayo One medical helicopter services were initially requested, the flight was canceled en route by the responding ambulance crew. The man was subsequently transported to the emergency room at St. Mary’s Hospital.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
