Pinerolo school assault: Student with disability burned by classmate

Carabinieri are investigating a suspected assault at the Arturo Prever vocational institute in Pinerolo, Italy. A 19-year-old student with a disability was allegedly targeted in the school locker rooms following a lesson.

The victim was reportedly approached by a minor classmate who used a lit lighter on the student's arms. The resulting injuries are expected to heal within five days. The victim's mother has filed a formal complaint, and the case has been referred to the juvenile prosecutor's office in Turin.

School principal Roberta Martino expressed shock over the incident, noting that the institution focuses heavily on inclusion. While the school typically favors educational sanctions, Martino has proposed the expulsion of the alleged aggressor due to the severity of the act.
