Ping An Digital Bank assets surge 133% to HK$15.6 billion
Ping An Digital Bank reported significant year-on-year growth for the first half of 2026. As of June 30, the Hong Kong-based virtual bank’s total assets rose 133% to more than HK$15.6 billion (approximately US$1.99 billion), while customer deposits increased 131% to nearly HK$13.7 billion (approximately US$1.77 billion).
Net interest income grew by roughly 55% to over HK$140 million. The bank also saw its fee and commission income increase sevenfold year-on-year to HK$6.5 million, a surge attributed to the launch of new wealth services in March 2026. Chief Executive Ronald Iu stated that the bank intends to continue diversifying its investment offerings and introducing high-end wealth management services.
In addition to retail services, the bank provides business banking solutions for trade SMEs, utilizing commercial and alternative data to expedite account opening and credit checks. The institution aims to support cross-border e-commerce firms and the real economy in alignment with Hong Kong government objectives.
