Pingtung County Art Museum hosts Japanese contemporary art exhibition

The Pingtung County Art Museum in Taiwan is nearing the conclusion of its first international special exhibition, ‘When Flowers Bloom,’ which features Japanese contemporary art. The exhibition, which runs until August 30, showcases works from 16 renowned Japanese artists, including Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, and Nobuyoshi Araki.

The collection includes 58 pieces spanning calligraphy, painting, photography, sculpture, and installation art, with 29 items being exhibited in Taiwan for the first time. The exhibition has significantly boosted local cultural tourism, contributing to nearly 700,000 visitors at the Pingtung 1936 Cultural and Creative Industries Park since March.
